2022 D2CCA All-America Teams
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Oredigger setter
Drew Stokes was crowned First-Team All-America on Thursday morning by the Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA) after her record-breaking season for the Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team.
Â
It marks the first D2CCA All-America honor of Stokes' career and ties her as the most decorated player in program history. Thursday's award along with four total AVCA All-America awards match Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood's five all-America honors spanning from 2013-15. Stokes also earned AVCA National Freshman of the Year in 2018. On the D2CCA's 2022 squads, the Mines graduate student was one of two RMAC players to appear on the top three teams and the only player from the conference on the first team. Even Stephens of Alaska Anchorage was voted as the Ron Lenz Player of the Year. The D2CCA All-America teams were voted on by NCAA Division II sports information directors from across the country.
Â
Thursday's announcement gave Stokes her second all-America nod in as many days after earning AVCA Second-Team All-America on Wednesday. That made the Murphysboro, Ill., native the first four-time AVCA All-American in Mines history. It caps a 2022 resume that also includes AVCA and D2CCA First-Team All-Region, RMAC Setter of the Year, First-Team All-RMAC, NCAA South Central Region All-Tournament, and three RMAC Setter of the Week awards. Stokes stacked up the awards thanks to 1,275 assists, 261 digs, 93 kills, 35 total blocks, and 24 service aces while hitting .376 on the attack. With three more rounds remaining in the NCAA tournament, the Murphysboro, Ill., native ranks #3 in the nation in assists per set and #11 in total assists. During the season, Stokes became Mines' all-time leader in assists and climbed the program's all-time service ace list to #4. She finished her season ranked #1 among active career leaders in NCAA Division II in total assists and #2 in assists per set. The graduate student also ranks #3 among all active players at all three levels of the NCAA in career assists and career assists per set.

The Orediggers' season came to a close in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Nov. 18 after a five-set loss to eventual regional champion West Texas A&M. Mines closed the year 22-8 overall with a 15-3 mark in RMAC play. Head Coach
