COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado School of Mines pole vault duo of
Hannah Miller and
Hunter Potrykus have received the RMAC Field Athlete of the Week awards.
Miller set a new season-best to win the event at the Mines Mini-Meet with a 4.11m clearance, the best in the RMAC this season by 10 centimeters and the #5 mark in the nation. Miller has now won seven consecutive pole vault competitions dating back to the RMAC Indoor Championships, including five-for-five in the outdoor season.
Potrykus broke the RMAC pole vault record, winning the event at the Mines Mini-Meet with a bar of 5.36m, which also set the Mines all-conditions record. Potrykus' performance is now #2 in NCAA Division II and virtually assured him of a return trip to the national meet in May.
It is the fourth career RMAC Field Athlete of the Week award for Potrykus and the second this outdoor season. It marks Miller's sixth career honor and also the second this season.
Mines is in action at the RMAC Championships at Chadron State starting Friday.
