GOLDEN, Colo. –
Mikey Gangwish was named First-Team All-America Catcher Friday by the D2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and again Tuesday by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings while Trevor Kehe grabbed ABCA/Rawlings Second-Team All-America honors in the outfield.

The announcements make Gangwish the first Oredigger in program history to earn multiple first-team all-America awards. He was also named First-Team All-America Catcher by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) last week. Earlier this season, Gangwish was crowned South Central Regional Player of the Year and First-Team All-Region by the NCBWA, D2CCA and ABCA/Rawlings. He also earned RMAC Player of the Year and First-Team All-RMAC honors.

As Mines' starting catcher, Gangwish finished the season batting .373 with 69 runs and 80 RBI while slugging .825 on 20 doubles, two triples and 24 home runs. The Albuquerque, N.M, native broke the program's single-season home run, RBI and total bases records. He also tied the all-time mark for career home runs with 31. In total, Gangwish is listed in Mines' baseball record book 18 times.

Kehe earned his second All-America honor of the season after grabbing honorable mention distinction from the NCBWA. He swept the trio of all-region teams (NCBWA, D2CCA, ABCA/Rawlings) as a first-team outfielder. The announcement adds to his long list of 2018 accolades including First-Team All-RMAC, RMAC Gold Glove, RMAC All-Tournament, CoSIDA Academic All-District and RMAC First-Team All-Academic.

In 55 games as the Orediggers' starting center fielder, Kehe led the nation in runs scored with 80. He batted .382 with 51 RBI while slugging .709 on 22 doubles, one triple and 16 home runs. The Golden, Colo., native broke Mines' single-season hits, runs and at-bats records while hitting the second-most doubles and home runs in a season in program history.

As a team, Mines went 37-18 and finished second in the RMAC standings on its way to the first NCAA Tournament berth in program history. The Orediggers went 2-2 at the South Central Regional and closed its season just one win shy of the championship game. The 2018 squad combined to tie or break 23 records with 33 additional entries into the baseball record book.
