NORMAN, Okla.
- After an outstanding junior season for Colorado School of Mines golf, George Markham has added yet another honor to his resume: all-American.

Markham was named a GCAA/PING Honorable Mention All-America on Tuesday, capping a season that saw him earn a spot at NCAA Championships after winning the NCAA West/South Central regional. Markham becomes the sixth all-American in program history and first since Michael Lee in 2013; three of those have come under head coach Tyler Kimble since 2012.

Markham became the program's first individual at-large selection to the NCAA Championships after he won the NCAA West/South Central Regional on May 9. He was also the RMAC runner-up and had top-20 finishes at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate (T18), RMAC Fall Event (T5), Bay Area Invitational (T15), Bob Writz Invitational (T11), and the Southern Colorado Masters (T14). Markham averaged a team-low 72.21 strokes per round in 2017-18. Last weekend, he finished eighth at the Southwestern Amateur in Arizona.

The All-America nod is the latest in a bevy of postseason honors that includes First-Team All-RMAC and PING First-Team All-Region awards. Markham was also a PING All-Region honoree in 2016-17 and has been all-RMAC three times in his career.
