Taylor Flanagan was hired fulltime as the women's basketball assistant coach in November of 2020 and served in that role through the 2023-24 season.
Flanagan joined head coach Brittany Simpson's staff fulltime after previously volunteering her time and talents with the Orediggers. In Flanagan's four years on staff, Mines posted an overall record of 87-25 while going 67-16 in RMAC play. Flanagan assisted the Orediggers to two RMAC Regular Season Championships (2020-21, 2021-22) and four consecutive NCAA Tournament selections including the greatest season in the history of Mines women's basketball in 2021-22. Under Flanagan's tutelage, individual Orediggers accumulated 14 All-RMAC awards including seven first-team selections, four second-team selections and three Honorable Mention All-RMAC nods. Additionally, Flanagan assisted with the development of four 1,000-point scorers, the program's top-two leading scorers in Ashley Steffeck and Denali Pinto, the program's all-time leading rebounder in Sammy Van Sickle, and the program's all-time steals leader in Ashley Steffeck. The last two Orediggers were also named RMAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively.
The former collegiate guard who played as Taylor Torres, put together a decorated career at Colorado Christian from 2012-16 where she earned Division II Bulletin All-America All-Freshman Team distinction and RMAC Freshman of the Year in 2013. She also added Second-Team All-RMAC and NCCAA All-Region in that same season. The 5-4 guard also garnered Honorable Mention All-RMAC honors in 2014-15. In her senior season, Flanagan averaged 9.5 points and 3.9 assists per game along with 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest.
Flanagan majored in psychology and earned her bachelor's degree from CCU in 2016. She currently resides with her family in Arvada, Colo.
