Steinhauer Fieldhouse Track & Field Records

Home to the Mines indoor track & field teams, historic Steinhauer Fieldhouse is a multi-purpose indoor facility that houses track & field events, as well as indoor practices for various Colorado School of Mines athletic teams. With a reputation for having a fast track and an elevation of more than 5,700' above sea level, Steinhauer is one of the top indoor running destinations in the nation during the winter season. Steinhauer Fieldhouse is located at 13th and Illinois Street.

Built in 1937 and one of the oldest indoor track & field facilities in the nation, Steinhauer features a four-lane 200m Mondo Super X track that was resurfaced in 2014. The surface also supports a six-lane 60m straightaway and field areas in a variety of configurations. The fieldhouse also features an in-house FinishLynx automatic timing system. Steinhauer Fieldhouse has hosted more RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championship meets than any other venue, welcoming the nation's best track & field conference 19 times, most recently in 2018.

Not just home to track & field, Steinhauer Fieldhouse hosts all variety of physical activity classes at Mines, concerts, trade shows, camps, and other events throughout the year. It also regularly hosts large tournaments for Mines Wrestling, including the annual Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open and the 2017 NCAA West Super Region Championships.
 

PUBLIC USE: Steinhauer Fieldhouse is for the use of the Mines campus; the track is not open to the general public.
TICKETS: For indoor track & field and wrestling tournaments, tickets (if being used for that event) are sold only at the entrance on meet day. 
PARKING: On weekdays before 5 p.m., paid visitor parking is available in the parking garage across Maple Street from Steinhauer Fieldhouse. On weekends or after 5 p.m., fans can park in any Colorado School of Mines lot or the garage.
