Jack Hancock Wrestling Center

Built in the fall of 2010, the Jack Hancock Wrestling Center features 3,600 square feet of mat space, a balcony and an entrance into the Mines Wrestling locker room. Located on the first floor of Volk Gymnasium, it sits on the site of the former Mines Natatorium, and the transition took approximately six months to complete. In 2017, the space was dedicated in honor of longtime Mines coach and National Wrestling Hall of Fame member Jack Hancock for his more than 40 years of service as an Oredigger. As part of the dedication, plans were announced for a modern renovation of the facility's locker room area to include 33 lockers, a study/lounge area, and hot/cold tubs; The Don Meyers Locker Room was completed prior to the 2018-19 wrestling season.

The room also features the Glen E. Hasse Wall of Fame as well as plaques and pictures of past Mines All-Americans and national champions. In addition to training, the room hosts special events like the annual Mines Alumni Dual, and is the site for several Mines physical activity classes in the martial arts.

Mines' competition home is upstairs in historic Volk Gymnasium, while the adjacent Steinhauer Fieldhouse also hosts large wrestling tournaments like the annual Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open and the 2017 NCAA West Super Region Championships.
