ALAMOSA - Home-standing Adams State shot a blistering 55.0 percent from the floor in the second half while limiting No. 9 Colorado Mines to just 42.9 percent shooting from the field, including a 1-of-9 mark from downtown to hand the Orediggers a 70-59 loss on Friday evening at Plachy Hall in Alamosa.
Colorado Mines (12-2, 8-2 RMAC) never captured a lead in the game and was only able to tie up the score on three occasions. The Orediggers committed 19 turnovers and the Grizzlies (10-3, 7-3 RMAC) turned those miscues into 27 points while CSM only generated 13 points on 18 ASC turnovers.
Brett Green led the team with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor while adding four rebounds, two assists and a steal in 36 minutes on the court.
Trevor Wages posted 12 points on a 6-of-7 shooting effort while adding five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Luke Meisch was the only other member of the squad in double figures with 10 points on 2-of-7 shooting while registering a team-high six rebounds and two blocked shots.
CSM looks to rebound tomorrow when they travel to Durango for a matchup with Fort Lewis at 7:30 p.m.
