Hot Shooting Lifts No. 11 Mines Past Chadron State, 98-68

GOLDEN – The 11th-ranked Colorado Mines men's basketball squad used five players in double-figures, including a game-high 19 by junior Brett Green, to secure a 98-68 victory over visiting Chadron State on Friday at Lockridge Arena in Golden. 

The Orediggers (16-2, 12-2 RMAC) shot 57.6 percent from the floor, 46.7 percent from long range and 85.2 percent from the foul line in posting a new season high in points in the win over the Eagles (5-13, 5-9 RMAC). CSM recorded 20 assists to just eight turnovers in the matchup and led from start-to-finish in recording its most lopsided win of the conference season.

Green finished 7-of-8 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line to lead the Orediggers while Dale Minschwaner posted 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go with five rebounds.

Redshirt freshmen Trevor Ritchie and Brian Muller each added 13 points on 3-of-9 shooting lines, with Ritchie adding five assists and two steals and Muller finishing 2-of-3 from 3-point land.

Luke Meisch set a new career high with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting while adding four rebounds and three assists.

The Orediggers look to avenge one of their two losses this season when they face Nebraska-Kearney tomorrow. The men's game will follow the women's game that is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Lockridge Arena. The Lopers (11-6, 9-5 RMAC) lost to Colorado Christian on Friday by a 75-71 score.
