INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 16 Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped one spot from No. 1 to No. 2 in this week's NCAA Division II South Central Region Volleyball rankings, the association announced Wednesday.

Mines (24-5), the 2013 RMAC Champions, dropped one spot in the rankings following a 3-0 loss to Colorado Christian last Tuesday in Lakewood. Since that defeat, one which snapped a program record 15-match win streak for the Orediggers, the squad has rattled off two wins; 3-1 over UCCS and 3-0 over Fort Lewis.

Mines holds a 22-5 record against NCAA Division II competition (as of Nov. 18) and a 21-3 in-region record. Though not technically part of the South Central Region, Mines' 3-2 loss to Wayne State (Neb.) from earlier this year counts in the rankings due to Nebraska being a border state of Colorado.

West Texas A&M took the top spot with a 28-1 in-region record, while Regis, Angelo State and Texas Woman's round out the top five.

The NCAA Division II Volleyball selection show will be at 5:30 p.m. (MT) on Monday, Nov. 25. The top eight programs in the region will earn spots in the 2013 NCAA Championships, which will commence on Dec. 5.

Mines, the top seed in the RMAC Tournament, will host the semifinal and championship rounds of the championships at Lockridge Arena in Golden on Friday and Saturday, November 22-23.

All students who attend the matchup on Friday evening will receive free admission, courtesy of the Colorado School of Mines Department of Student Life, with a valid BlasterCard. Should Mines advance on Friday, students will again receive free admission to Saturday's championship finale.
