GOLDEN – Colorado School of Mines men's basketball redshirt senior Clay Boatwright recently stepped away from his busy schedule and caught up with CSMOrediggers.com to discuss his favorite song, dream job and the best aspect of basketball road trips, among others.
A Mechanical Engineering major, Boatwright has appeared in eight games for the 11th-ranked Orediggers, averaging 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds a night.
The Parker, Colo. product is 7-of-14 (.500) from the floor and 5-of-7 (.714) at the free throw line thus far, and is tied for second on the team with four blocks, including three in the 104-69 win over Nebraska-Kearney on Nov. 16.

1. What celebrity do people say you most resemble?
I've had a few people say that I remind them of Daniel Tosh. I think it's because we are both skinny and a little sarcastic.
2. What is your best non-athletic talent?
Getting groceries on the top shelf for little old ladies at King Soopers.
3. What is the reason you chose to come to Mines?
It was an opportunity to get a great education and play for a great basketball program at the same time…and I thought the campus lifestyle here would help me come out of my shell.
4. The best song of all-time is...?
Space Jam by the Quad City DJ's.
5. What was one poster that hung on your wall growing up?
Every year I had a big poster with an updated Kansas basketball roster and schedule for the upcoming season that I got signed at basketball camp.
6. Who is one person in history you would most like to meet?
Michael Jordan.
7. What is one word to describe head coach Pryor Orser?
Intense.
8. When not in class or practice, where are you most likely to be found?
Taking a nap on the couches in the Student Rec Center.
9. Who is the best prankster on the men's basketball team?
I'd say Trevor Ritchie and I probably mess with people the most, but "Ry-Daddy" Walter is pretty sneaky too.
10. What is your dream job?
High school gym teacher so it would be acceptable to wear sweatpants every day, but unfortunately that doesn't pay very well.
11. What is your favorite fast-food restaurant?
Del Taco.
12. Who would your dream date be with?
Anna Evans. Wow. Just wow.
13. What is your least favorite conditioning drill?
We used to do the tip drill when I was a freshman, it was awful.
14. What one item would you want on a deserted island?
Toilet paper.
15. What is the best thing about basketball road trips?
Late night hotel room Yahtzee with Trevor Wages.
16. Who is your favorite professor at Mines?
Toss up between Sam Romberger and Chuck Stone.
17. What song must you listen to before a game to get "pumped up?"
All Alright by Moosh and Twist: OCD.
18. When not in season, where is the best place to spend a Friday night?
Wearing my Snuggie and watching Netflix at home, same thing everyone else does on a Friday night.
19. What is the best website to pass the time?

20. What is your proudest sports moment at Mines?
Earning the chance to host the NCAA Tournament at Mines in 2012 and playing in front of a capacity crowd. Press Release
