DENVER – Colorado School of Mines women's basketball held a four-point lead in the early goings of the second half Friday against Regis, yet were undone by a 53-point outburst by the Rangers over the final 20:00 in falling 89-77 at Regis Fieldhouse.

Mines (3-9, 2-6 RMAC) went ahead 40-36 to start the second on four straight points by senior Allie Grazulis.

Following back-to-back three-pointers by Tae'lor Purdy and Bay'lee Purdy that staked Regis (7-5, 5-3 RMAC) to a 42-40 advantage, the Orediggers moved back in front, 44-42, at the 17:15 mark on a pair of lay-ins.

The Rangers then put together the deciding run of the night, scoring 11 unanswered points for a 53-44 lead with 14:22 remaining.

Mines got as close as seven on a handful of occasions in the 1:52 that followed, but failed to keep pace as Regis finished the frame 18-of-37 (.486) and 8-of-16 from distance, eventually growing the margin to 18 with 5:45 to go.

RU converted 32-of-69 (.464) overall for the evening, while Mines shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) and 4-of-13 (.308) along the arc.

Four Orediggers had 10 or more points for the fifth time this season.

The frontcourt tandem of senior Tory Langas and Grazulis combined for 35 points with Langas netting a team- and season-high 18 on 6-of-9 shooting and 6-of-6 free throws.

Grazulis ran her double-double streak to four in a row with 17 points and season-best 15 rebounds – her seventh consecutive game of double-digit boards and eighth in the last nine.

Senior Courtney Gallo added 16 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Laura Tyree had 11 and team-best four assists off the bench.

Tae'lor Purdy, No. 3 in Division II in scoring, was 2.5 points better than her average with a game-high 26 and shared the game-high with 15 rebounds.
