COLORADO SPRINGS – The No. 10 Colorado School of Mines volleyball team rebounded from a 31-29 first-set loss to stake a 3-1 victory over the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Friday evening at the Gallogly Events Center.
 Mines (17-2, 10-1 RMAC) and UCCS (9-11, 5-6 RMAC) battled back-and-forth in the first set before the Mountain Lions eventually claimed the win, 31-29. The Orediggers responded with three-straight set wins by scores of 25-21, 25-23 and 25-12 for their sixth-straight victory. 
 Sophomore Megan Peterson led the squad with a match-high 18 kills on a .485 attack percentage. The St. Louis, Mo., product also added three digs and four of Mines' 19 total blocks in the matchup. 
 Fellow sophomore Alanna Winfield added 11 kills, five digs and a pair of blocks as well, while senior Sarah Pekarek notched nine kills and 10 digs to narrowly miss another double-double. 
 The Plymouth, Minn., native tied for the team lead with Winfield with two service aces and added six assists as well. 
 Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood dished out 40 assists to lead the offense and led the team with 20 digs defensively for her 14th double-double of the season. Her 20-dig performance on Friday was her third match of the season with 20-plus digs. 
 She tied with Peterson for the team lead with four blocks and also added two kills on the offensive end as well. 
 Sophomore Taryn Huber notched 16 digs and chipped in four assists on the offensive end and junior Corrine Din recorded 13 and a service ace. 
 Mines will continue its weekend action tomorrow when the squad travels to face Regis (14-5, 9-2 RMAC) at the Regis Fieldhouse in Denver at 5 p.m.
