TOWSON, Md. – Colorado School of Mines men's soccer junior Richard Garvey was recognized on the NCAA Division II Capital One Academic All-District Men's Soccer First Team for the second straight season on Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The two-time RMAC First Team All-Academic selection and 2014 RMAC Academic Player of the Year owns a pair of five-point outings this season; he recorded a brace and the game-winner at Oklahoma Christian on Sept. 14 and established the program's single-game assists record with three against Metro State on Oct. 19.
Carrying a 3.889 GPA in Electrical Engineering, Garvey was one of 11 student-athletes to make up the District 6 First Team.
First-team Academic All-District recipients advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later next month.
