COLORADO SPRINGS – In leading the defensive efforts for the No. 4 Colorado School of Mines volleyball team during a 2-0 week to close the regular season, sophomore Megan Peterson has been named this week's RMAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

A St. Louis, Mo., product, Peterson led Mines (24-2, 17-1 RMAC) during a pair of 3-0 sweeps over then-No. 20 MSU Denver and Colorado Christian by averaging 1.50 blocks per set over the two matches.

The two wins helped Mines claim a share of its third-straight conference title. She averaged 3.00 kills per set on the offensive end on the way to 18 kills, including 10 kills in the win over MSUD on Tuesday while adding three blocks defensively against the Roadrunners.

She closed the weekend with eight kills and six blocks in the title-clinching win over CCU.

This is her first-career RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor and her third RMAC weekly award this season after twice being named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
