SILVER CITY, N.M. – Steered by a balanced, efficient scoring attack and season-high 56.9 percent shooting, Colorado School of Mines women's basketball completed its first two-game sweep through New Mexico since 2007-08 with a 79-70 win Saturday over Western New Mexico at Drag's Court.

Seven players had eight or more points, including four with double figures for the seventh time as Mines (11-14, 10-11 RMAC) shot 29-of-51 and 10-of-22 (.455) from three with a season-best 23 assists.

Senior Allie Grazulis recorded her ninth double-double with a team-high 15 points and game-high 14 rebounds, going 5-of-5 from the floor and 5-of-7 at the line.

Tied for the RMAC lead in 10-rebound games (14) and fourth in double-doubles, Grazulis claimed sole possession of third place among the school's all-time rebound leaders with 785. She is two free throws shy of matching Marissa Eichhorn (1998-02) for fifth in the Mines record book with 254.

Freshman Laura Tyree and sophomore Courtney Martin came in after the opening tip to add nine and eight points, respectively, helping the Orediggers to a 29-21 advantage in bench scoring.

Senior Courtney Gallo finished with eight points, upping her team lead in three-point field goals to 53 – tied for fifth-most in a single-season at Mines – with two from the outside, while doling out a career-best eight assists.

RaTanya Newsome led WNMU (10-16, 7-14 RMAC) with 18 points. Stephanie Moore had 14, Kim Clark 12 and Jordan Gutierrez 10.

The Mustangs were 24-of-63 (.381) overall and 8-of-19 (.421) outside for the evening. WNMU trimmed a 17-point halftime deficit to as close as 65-59 with 4:29 remaining on a 48.6 percent (17-of-35) second-half effort that included 6-of-11 (.545) three-pointers.

Mines built a 41-24 cushion at the break with a season-high tying 16 field goals on 57.1 percent (16-of-28) shooting.

The Orediggers enter the final week of the regular season a 0.5 game behind UC-Colorado Springs (11-13, 10-10 RMAC) for eighth place in the RMAC standings and 1.0 game back of Black Hills State (12-13, 11-10 RMAC) in seventh. The Mountain Lions defeated BHSU 64-49 on Saturday.
