DENVER – A five-run second inning broke open a scoreless contest and Colorado School of Mines softball rolled to a 10-2, five-inning win Sunday in the series opener against Regis at Regis Softball Field in Denver.

Back-to-back one-out doubles by seniors Melissa Marshall and Gianna Duncan opened the scoring. Sophomore Elise Dugwyler and freshman Paige Noehring singled to load the bases and senior Morgan Anderson delivered a three-run triple to right center, before scoring on a fielding miscue by the second baseman.

Duncan added an RBI single in the third and senior Courtney Derus a run-scoring fielder's choice in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-2. Regis (9-17, 8-8 RMAC) plated two in the home half of the third behind a pair of RBI base hits.

Junior Cassie Ford capped the scoring with a two-out, three-run double to left center in the fifth after Dugwyler, freshman Kara Walling and Noehring all reached on consecutive singles to open the at-bat.

Noehring posted her team-leading fourth three-hit game of the season, finishing 3-for-4 with a season-high tying three runs.

Anderson and Marshall each closed 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored, while Anderson tied her career-best with the three RBI. Duncan and Dugwyler were both 2-for-3 with one run.

Sophomore Kristen Prudhomme (7-11) struck out three and surrendered only two earned runs on six hits and three walks in 5.0 innings for her eighth complete game, fourth-most among RMAC hurlers.
