STANFORD, Calif. – The Colorado School of Mines men's track and field senior trio of Tyler Curtis, Andrew Epperson and Sean Gildea combined for three NCAA provisional times and a school record Friday at the renown Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track in California.

Curtis erased over seven seconds off his previous program-best in the 3000-meter steeplechase established last season at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays, becoming the first Oredigger to run sub-9:00.00 with a second-place time of 8:55.32 in the 17-runner field.

Epperson concluded the day 16th among 27 in section three of the 5000 in 14:09.02, nearly 28 seconds faster than his outdoor personal-record of 14:36.63 set in 2012.

Gildea began the morning 10th of 26 in the fourth section of the 5000, running well under the provisional standard 14:40.00 in a time of 14:24.96.

Competing almost entirely against Division I competition, all three were the lone Division II representative in their respective races.

Mines continues the weekend action Saturday at both the Air Force Relays in Colorado Springs and Texas Tech Open in Lubbock, Texas.
