How It Happened
#23 Colorado School of Mines erupted for a season-high five goals to shut out Adams State 5-0 on Sunday.

The Orediggers (7-3-2, 5-1-2 RMAC) picked up an important win in the context of the RMAC race, staying in second place with two league games left to play. They led 1-0 after a dominating first half but poured on the goals in the second, led by Brooke Stoermer's brace as the Orediggers pounced on Grizzly mistakes.

Mel Westhoff was the beneficiary of one of those defensive miscues early in the game, as a bad clearance fell to her feet at the top of the box and she buried the finish in the 10th minute.

Stoermer hit her first 1:26 into the second half with a left-footed rip from the top of the box, then added her second seven minutes later when Haley Cole sprung her on a breakaway and she picked the ball out of a collision with the goalkeeper.

Cole got into the scoring action in the 69th minute with a cannon from Acacia Ortiz's cross, and Deirdre Johnson was gifted a poor clearance and had only the keeper to beat with 2:40 left.
