CSU-Pueblo's Sandy Grimaldo broke a scoreless deadlock with her late goal as the Thunderwolves defeated Colorado School of Mines, 1-0, on Friday.
Despite outshooting Pueblo 12-6, the Orediggers (8-4-2, 6-1-2 RMAC) were frustrated by Pueblo (6-5-2, 2-3-1 RMAC). Mines was led by three shots from Brooke Stoermer and two by Haley Cole.
Grimaldo's 70th-minute goal, which came unassisted, was the deciding factor despite Mines holding an 8-2 second-shots advantage.
Notables
- The game did not count towards the RMAC standings as only one meeting between conference opponents qualifies per season. Mines and Pueblo drew 1-1 earlier this month in Golden.
- Mines led 12-6 overall on shots after an even 4-4 first half. the visitors also led 3-1 on corner kick chances.
- Jayln Yates made one save for Mines. Ann-Marie O'Connell and Alison Darr split time for Pueblo and combined for three stops.

Mines heads to New Mexico Highlands Sunday in another non-RMAC meeting. The Orediggers defeated the Cowgirls 1-0 earlier this month.
