How It Happened
Laya Rybicki's second-half goal lifted #16 Colorado School of Mines over first-place New Mexico Highlands 1-0.

The Orediggers improved to 6-2-2 overall and 4-0-2 in RMAC play with the win over the Cowgirls (5-5-1, 4-2-1 RMAC), who came in with a three-game win streak.

Mines had a superb early scoring opportunity when Haley Cole rang the crossbar on a long-range opportunity, and Holly Weyand had a quality first-half chance as well.

Rybicki's goal came in the 64th minute on an inch-perfect feed from Acacia Ortiz, and she rifled a shot to the far upper left of net for her second of the season. The Orediggers continued to hunt for more, with Devon Dunmire forcing a superb save by Ashlyn Bruin and late headers by Rachael Turner and Jacklyn Knott also finding their way to Bruin's gloves.
