Johnson-Hazlewood Sweeps RMAC Player and Setter of Year Awards; Leads Five on All-RMAC Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second consecutive season, senior Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood has been named the RMAC Player and Setter of the Year as she leads a total of five Colorado School of Mines student-athletes to be named to the RMAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference Teams as announced by the league on Tuesday, November 17.

Mines placed three members on the All-Conference First-Team and had member on both All-Conference Second-Team and Honorable Mention.

Once again, Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood is the RMAC's top player for a second consecutive season and the league's top setter for a third straight campaign. The Cypress, Texas native leads the RMAC in assists per set for a fourth straight season with 12.34 this season which places her third overall in NCAA Division II.

Recently named RMAC Setter of the Week for a sixth time this season and a 18th time overall, Johnson-Hazlewood has gone over the 40-assist plateau 20 times this season, and on six occasions has hit 50 assists or better. She has also recorded a double-double a team-best 16 times this year, and is fourth on the team with 2.72 digs per set.

Joining Johnson-Hazlewood on the RMAC All-Conference First-Team is junior Alanna Winfield and senior Megan Peterson.

Winfield makes her second straight appearance on the RMAC First-Team after a regular season that saw her lead the team with 3.69 kills per set which is also fifth in the RMAC. She is second on the team and 10th in the conference with a .289 attacking percentage. The Houston, Texas native is also ranked 49th in the nation with 4.27 points per set, and 25 times this season she has hit double-digit kills in a contest.

Also making her second straight First-Team All-RMAC appearance is Megan Peterson who is second on the team and eighth in the league in kills per set at 3.23. She is also eighth in the RMAC in hitting percentage at .300, and is the Orediggers leading blocker with 82. The St. Louis native has hit double-digit kills 17 times this season which included a career-high 21 kills in a 3-1 win at UIndy (9/11).

Making her first ever appearance on an All-RMAC squad is senior Frannie Cormier who was selected to the Second-Team. Cormier is Mines' do-it-all outside hitter who is a force on offense, defense and at the service line. Cormier is third on the team at kills and digs per set at 2.80 and 2.82, respectively, and is third in the conference with .40 services aces per set. On 11 different occasions the San Diego native has recorded a double-double.

The final Mines volleyball player to be honored is freshman Janice Jin who named Honorable Mention All-RMAC. The Colorado Springs native is fourth on the team with 2.2 kills and 2.5 points per set. Since she became a regular in the starting lineup around the season's midway point, Jin has averaged 2.6 kills per set and is hitting .362 which is a team-best. She was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after hitting .800 with 12 kills in game against CSU-Pueblo (10/23).
