GOLDEN – Restricted to only one combined run and eight hits, Colorado School of Mines twice succumbed to RMAC leader Regis on Sunday, falling 9-1 (6) and 8-0 (5) in the final games of a 10-game homestand at CSM Softball Field in Golden.

Five Orediggers recorded a hit in the opener with senior Cassie Ford and sophomore Jackie Vasquez each closing 1-for-2 with one double.

Mines (5-28, 3-16 RMAC) scratched across its lone score in the sixth; Vasquez led off with a two-base hit down the left field line and scored on an infield single and successful rundown between first and second base by freshman Pua Fujinaga.

The Rangers (21-9, 16-3 RMAC) also silenced the women's bats in game two as starter Nicole Aviles earned her 13th win in the circle – second-most among conference pitchers – with her second shutout.

Sophomore Paige Noehring went 2-for-2 and classmate Rebecca Fallon 1-for-2 in the loss.

The Orediggers return to the road April 3-4 for a four-game series against Colorado State-Pueblo at Rawlings Softball Complex in Pueblo.
