Box Score How It Happened
Colorado School of Mines put on an offensive show in a dominant 4-1 victory over Adams State on Friday, October 14 at Stermole Soccer Stadium.
Four goals from four different players and a decisive 29-3 shot differential sent Mines (7-4-2, 6-2-1) past Adams State (4-9, 1-8) in a pivotal RMAC matchup.
While the game was lopsided in favor of the Orediggers, Adams State actually struck first as Matthew Jackson put in a nifty cross from Mario Castro in the 11'.
That lead wouldn't last but about 10 minutes as
John Haist climbed in the middle of the box to meet a perfect
Jackson Shelledy long throw to tie the game. The Orediggers then took the lead for good just another 20 minutes later when
Jason Zobott headed in his own Shelledy long throw.
The offensive pressure continued into the second half as Mines continued to pepper the ASU goal.
That pressure finally paid off in the 69' when
Ryan Blarr scored his first goal of the season off a 35-yard free kick. Then, only three minutes later,
David Boldt finished the game off when he rocketed in a double pass, from on the left-side of the box,, from
Trevor Amann and
Nikolaus Grotz.
