RMAC CHAMPS! #10 Mines Seals Fourth Straight Title

ALAMOSA, Colo. - #10 Colorado School of Mines claimed its fourth consecutive RMAC regular-season championship with an emphatic 6-0 win at Adams State in the regular-season finale.

Tied on points with CSU-Pueblo coming into Sunday, Mines was gifted a scoreless draw between CSUP and Western State to give the Orediggers the outright title and the RMAC Tournament's #1 seed. A Thunderwolves win would have sent the tournament semifinals and final to Pueblo. Mines will host Western State Wednesday in a quarterfinal at 2:30 p.m.

Braces from Anna Deleray and Emily Garnier put a punctuation mark on the regular season as the Orediggers end it 16-2 overall and 10-2 in RMAC play. Mines got it going quickly, putting three players on the break off a counter that ended with Acacia Ortiz feeding Brooke Stoermer on the left side of the box. Stoermer slotted a finish to the far side to give Mines the lead at 8:11.

Deleray doubled the lead in the 24th minute, firing her second goal of the season moments after subbing on. Jaclyn Knott nearly made it 3-0 10 minutes later when she hit the crossbar, but Deleray made no doubt seconds later with her second of the day to set a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Stoermer nearly had her second after the break, using a left-footed shot to force a great save by Teagan Moore, and Garnier found the net on a free kick from midfield at 58' to make it 4-0. Jennifer Kendall got on the board with her strike from Kortney DesCamp at 60:46, and Garnier added her second free kick goal of the game on a curling shot from the left side at 74:47.
