GAME 1 – Western New Mexico 3, Colorado School of Mines 0
Mines (0-6) racked up seven hits, the same as the Mustangs (5-11), but left seven on base including four in scoring position as they dropped the day's opener 3-0.

Freshman Maddie Rogers had a solid outing in the circle, scattering seven hits and striking out two in six innings. Domi Shone picked up the win, striking out six and not allowing a run in the complete game.

Kara Walling led Mines with a pair of hits, while Paige Noehring, Brielle Asato, Katie Leiker, Boston Ludlow, and Sonoma Toot also reached safely.

Western New Mexico put a run across in the first when Linzy Granger worked a one-out walk into a run on Thailyza Ramirez's single; the Mustangs tacked on two more in the second when Krystal Castillo drew a bases-loaded walk and Granger scored Breanna Aker on a sacrifice fly.

Mines threatened in the third when Noehring reached on an error and advanced to second on Asato's single, and again in the fifth when Noehring and Walling were on the corners with two outs. Ludlow singles and eventually reached third in the seventh but was stranded there to end the game.

GAME 2 – Colorado School of Mines 8, Black Hills State 0 (5 inn.)
Mines' bats awoke for eight runs as they picked up their first win of the season in an 8-0 run-rule victory over Black Hills State (0-6, 0-1 RMAC).

Hallie Smith pitched a gem, one-hitting the Yellow Jackets with four hits and only one walk. Boston Ludlow drove in three runs with a 2-for-3 day at the plate to lead the Orediggers (1-6, 1-1 RMAC).

Mines struck for four runs in the first when Kara Jones' double brought in Pua Fujinaga and Noehring, and Ludlow singled up the middle to score Katie Leiker and Jones later in the inning.

Ludlow started another rally in the fifth, doubling in Leiker before Sonoma Toot scored her with a double of her own. Dani Valerio drove in Toot with her ground-out, and Loren Dempsey added to the doubles with a shot to left center, scoring Walling for the fifth-inning walk-off.
