GAME 1 - Colorado School of Mines 13, Black Hills State 3
Mines erupted for a season-high 13 runs to sweep its weekend pair from Black Hills State, 13-3, in the day's opener.

Freshman Katie Leiker went 4-for-5 with four RBI, and Paige Noehring, Boston Ludlow, and Sonoma Toot each drove in a pair to lead the offensive outburst for Mines.

Maddie Rogers got the start and was effective in 3.2 innings of work, allowing two runs and three hits; she was not eligible for the win, which went to Hallie Smith (2-1), who allowed only one hit and struck out six in relief.

BHSU got on the board first with Jo-Jo Curry's solo home run in the second, but Mines went up in the third when Keiker singled in Noehring and Ludlow drove in Dani Valerio. The lead went to 4-1 in the fourth on another Leiker RBI single and Rogers' bases-loaded walk, but the Yellow Jackets pulled a run back in the bottom half.

Mines continued to pile on runs in the fifth, with Noehring scoring two with a double and Leiker scoring her later in the inning; the seventh proved to be the backbreaker as Mines plated six starting with Kara Walling crossing thanks to an error. Leiker ended her big game with an RBI double, and Loren Dempsey's two-bagger brought her home. Ludlow grounded out to score Dempsey, and Sonoma Toot went yard for a two-run shot to end the rally.

GAME 2 – Colorado School of Mines 8, Western New Mexico 4
Katie Leiker kept her bat warm for the final game of the weekend, homering twice to lead Mines past Western New Mexico 8-4.

The win gave the Orediggers a 3-1 record in RMAC play after the first weekend and avenged a shutout loss to the Mustangs from Saturday. Hallie Smith (3-1) earned the win with a five-strikeout effort, allowing three earned on nine hits.

Leiker went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored in the nightcap, and Pua Fujinaga also was 2-for-3 with a run driven in and two scored.

Mines rallied back from a 2-0 hole in the third, putting four on the board in the fourth. With two outs, Kara Jones doubled and Boston Ludlow reached on an inning-extending error; that set up consecutive RBI singles by Fujinaga, Toot, and Walling, and a throwing error brought Toot home as well on Walling's hit.

Leiker went yard in the fifth to make it 5-1 before WNMU got a run back in the bottom half, but Mines put two more on the board in the sixth as two more Mustang errors led to runs by Fujinaga and Walling. Leiker homered for the second time in the seventh to punctuate the win.
