A pair of road victories last weekend has Mines (3-2-1, 2-0) atop the RMAC standings as they host UCCS and MSU Denver this weekend.

LAST WEEK LOOK BACK
The Orediggers got off to a tremendous start in their RMAC Championship defense as they blasted both Colorado Christian and CSU-Pueblo in league road matches last week. First, they went to nearby CCU and beat the Cougars with a second half barrage that produced a 7-0 victory. They then traveled south and earned a solid 3-0 victory against the Thunderwolves.

FRESHMAN BREAKOUT
Leading the goal explosion last week was freshman forward Trevor Amann who scored three of Mines' 10 goals. First, the Westminster native scored his first career goal then added another for his first ever brace at Colorado Christian. He followed that up with the game winner against CSU-Pueblo when he took a David Boldt cross from the touchline and buried it in the 59'.

IN THE NET
Staying with the freshman theme, goalkeeper Leo Chely continued the strong start to his career with another 170-plus minutes of scoreless soccer. Chely now boasts a 0.49 GAA and has a .850 save percentage in 550:54 over six games.

SERIES RECORDS
Tomorrow's matchup will be the 51st meeting between UCCS and Mines, and the Orediggers hold the all-time edge at 33-14-3. Mines also holds a winning record against MSU Denver at 29-17-5. The Orediggers also defeated both the Roadrunners and the Mountain Lions last season by the final of 1-0.

SCOUTING UCCS
The Mountain Lions enter this weekend's contest with a 2-3-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in RMAC action. UCCS has negative goal difference on the season (-4), and Jake Demerath and Cort Searls are the only the only Mountain Lions with more than one goal. David Meyer is the starting goalie and he boasts a 1.45 GAA and is saving shots only at a .636 clip.

SCOUTING MSU DENVER
The Roadrunners boast the exact same overall record (3-2-1), but are 1-0-1 in league action after last weekend's scoreless draw with Colorado Mesa and a 3-1 victory over Westminster. MSU Denver averages 1.571 goals a game and concedes 1.29 for a mere 0.28 margin. Josh Belfrage is the team's top goal scorer with three on the season while Hayden Rus leads them in net with a 1.29 GAA and a .704 save percentage.
