THE MATCH-UP
Coming off a key win last week at Westminster, Mines continues to battle for a playoff spot as they host Colorado Mesa and Western State this weekend. The Orediggers come in 9-9 overall and 5-4 in RMAC play, tied for sixth in the league; Mesa is 9-4/63 in fifth, and Western State is 4-9/3-6.

LAST TIME OUT
Behind near double-doubles from Mikaela Moore and Emily Bailey, Colorado School of Mines earned a dominating 77-58 victory at Westminster last Saturday to avenge their loss to the Griffins on Dec. 30. Moore had 16 points and nine boards and Bailey chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Laura Tyree added 10 in the blowout win.

READY FOR OUR CLOSE-UP
Friday night's game against Colorado Mesa will be televised live on Comcast Entertainment Television (channel 105 SD/900 HD on Front Range Comcast systems). Note the start time of the game is 5 p.m., a change from the previously-announced 6 p.m. start.

BAILEY PRODUCING BIG
One thing the Orediggers have been able to count on this season is the production of Emily Bailey. Already one of the most dangerous offensive players in the conference averaging 11.9 points and 2.2 assists per game, Bailey has amped up her defense as well, ranking fifth in the RMAC with 22 blocks while also producing 18 steals. Her 4.2 rebounds per game is fourth on the team.

I'LL TAKE THAT
Mines has been the RMAC's best rebounding team through the first half of the season, producing 43.3 per game and holding a +6.6 rebounding margin. Guard Anna Kollmorgen has been tenacious in the paint to lead the team at 6.9 rebounds per game (she is third in the RMAC with 5.9 defensive boards per game), with forwards Liz Tomon (5.9 rpg) and Caitlyn Smith (5.1 rpg) behind her.

LAST YEAR
Mines won their lone meeting with Colorado Mesa last year in a 63-60 overtime thriller in Golden. Laura Tyree played the hero with a three at the end of regulation to force overtime, then the go-ahead three-pointer and two late free throws to seal the win in OT. Tyree sank a game-high 24 points, with Cassidy Budge producing 13 with nine rebounds off the bench. Mines cruised in both meetings with Western State, 68-48 and 66-52.
