#14 Regis Halts #18 Mines' Streak, 3-0

DENVER - #14 Regis snapped #18 Colorado School of Mines' 13-match win streak with a 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-22) win Saturday night.

The result knots the Orediggers (19-4, 13-1 RMAC) and the Rangers (22-3, 14-1 RMAC) as the only two one-loss teams in the conference. The Rangers hit .313 for the match to hold off a scrappy Oredigger effort as they ralled back to stay in each set. Mines' 13-match win streak was the second-longest in program history and best since 2013.

Janice Jin had 10 kills with Ellie Monarch and Lindsey Jin pitching in nine each to lead the offense as Marina Hansen put up 36 assists. LaRose Currie got under 14 digs, with Janice Jin adding seven. Caitlyn Burroway led Regis with an 11-kill, 10-dig double-double, and Kristina Schell had 19 digs.

The first set was point-for-point until a 4-0 run from 17-17 gave the Rangers control of the match on the way to a 25-19 win. In the second, Mines fell behind 10-4, but chipped away at the deficit to eventually pull it back to a 22-21 Regis lead; Mines survived two set points, but the Rangers ended it on back-to-back kills from Burroway and Kristen Hornung to take it 26-24. Mines then led in the third until a 3-0 Regis run put them up 19-18; the two went point-for-point from there but Mines couldn't hold serve as Regis won 25-22.

The Orediggers return home Friday to host Adams State at 7 p.m.
