2017 All-RMAC Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS - Led by Player of the Year John Haist and Coach of the Year Greg Mulholland, #9 Colorado School of Mines had six student-athletes honored on the 2017 All-RMAC men's soccer teams.

Haist, forward Trevor Amann, and midfielder Nikolaus Grotz earned First-Team All-RMAC spots, midfielders Ryan Blarr and David Boldt were second-teamers, and goalkeeper Collin Hall was an honorable mention choice.

Mulholland, in his first season in the head role, guided Mines to the RMAC regular-season title and #9 national ranking with a 15-3 record. After an 0-2 start, Mines reeled off seven straight wins, and now enters the postseason as the RMAC Tournament's #1 seed riding an eight-match win streak. Mines has the RMAC's top-ranked offense and second-best goals-against average.

Haist earns the Player of the Year honor after a stunning junior season that saw the striker score 19 times - third-most in NCAA Division II. Haist hit seven gamewinners, including an overtime golden goal at Fort Lewis, and had five multi-goal games, including a hat trick against Cal State Monterey Bay. He was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season.

Amann, last season's RMAC rookie of the year, continued to impress as both a finisher and creator in his sophomore season. Amann scored seven goals with five assists for 19 points, including two game-winners. He scored twice with an assist against Adams State and has four goals in the last four games of the regular season. He was named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week back on Oct. 17. It is Amann's second straight First-Team All-RMAC nod.

Grotz, a senior, earns his third consecutive First-Team All-RMAC spot after once again anchoring the Mines offense in the central midfield. Grotz scored three goals with a team-high eight assists this season, including two game-winners. The RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 31, Grotz became Mines' all-time assists leader as a senior and currently sits at 40.

Blarr, a senior, takes home his second consecutive all-RMAC award, made even more impressive by changing positions for 2017. After an all-RMAC showing at fullback last year, Blarr moved to the defensive midfield and helped Mines produce a 0.78 GAA while allowing 9.4 shots per game for a +8.8 shot differential.

Boldt, making his first career appearance on the all-RMAC teams, worked with Blarr in that defensive midfield role while also scoring a goal with three assists in 2017. Boldt led Mines midfielders in minutes played (1,499) as a senior.

Hall returned after missing 2016 to backstop Mines between the pipes, earning his second career all-RMAC award. Hall notched a 0.79 GAA and .794 save percentage going 14-3, including six full shutouts and two combined clean sheets. His top save production was a nine-stop effort in overtime at Fort Lewis, and he also had six versus Adams State and five in the win at nationally-ranked Colorado Mesa.
