MSU Denver Downs Mines, 74-61

GOLDEN, Colo. - MSU Denver forced Colorado School of Mines to play from behind most of the game to deal the Orediggers their first conference loss, 74-61.

The Roadrunners (7-4, 3-2 RMAC) outrebounded the Orediggers (7-4/4-1 RMAC) by a 56-34 margin, and outscored Mines 25-15 in the fourth quarter to break open a one-point game.

Emily Bailey hit a team-high 17 points, as Nicole Archambeau scored nine with eight boards and Anna Kollmorgen and Paige Husa each had seven. The Roadrunners had four players in double figures led by J'Nae Squires-Horton with 18 points nad Emily Hartegan at 16 points, and Georgia Ohrdorf had a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Mines never led after Archambeau's opening basket, as MSU Denver slowly built a double-digit lead by the early third quarter. Down 49-38 late in the third, Mines embarked on a 10-0 run with eight straight points coming from Bailey to cut the lead to a single point at 49-48 with 8:46 left in the game. MSU Denver answered that with an 11-3 run to shut the door, though, as part of a larger 23-8 stretch that secured them the win.

The Orediggers stay at home to host UCCS on Sunday at 1 p.m.
