GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado Mesa silenced Colorado School of Mines' bats as the Mavericks took a 3-0 win on Sunday.
The Orediggers (17-16/9-10 RMAC) received a strong start by freshman
Tyler Blomster, but were two-hit by the combination of Jake Mielock and Tyler Day.
CMU got on the board with Andrew Contreras' bases-loaded walk in the first, and Kyle Serrano's two-run home run in the seventh made it 3-0.
Cody Marvel had both of Mines' hits.
Blomster (2-1) went seven innings and struck out three as he scattered seven hits and allowed three runs.
Walter Pennington threw an inning of no-hit relief. Mielock (1-1) whiffed seven in seven innings, with Day picking up the save with two innings per perfect ball.
Mines returns home to host Adams State this weekend with a four-game series starting Thursday at 6 p.m.
