WEEKEND SNAPSHOT
Friday and Saturday mark Mines' first road trip of 2018 as they head west to face Colorado Mesa and Western State. It will be the Orediggers' first meeting of the season against both opponents. The Mavericks of Colorado Mesa are in the mix for the playoffs at 11-4 overall and 5-4 in the RMAC – in a four-way tie for sixth place. The Mountaineers of Western are currently on the outside looking with an overall record of 6-9 and a mark of 3-6 in RMAC action – tied for 10th in the conference standings.

LOOKING BACK
After dropping an overtime heartbreaker on the road at Westminster on Dec. 30, the Orediggers (9-5, 6-2 RMAC) found redemption last Saturday in a 70-59 victory over the Griffins. Mines never trailed in the game as the Orediggers had five score in double digits for the first time this season.
Emily Bailey led the way with 18 points while
Nicole Archambeau grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and added 13 points.
Anna Kollmorgen and Archambeau combined for nine assists in the win.

MATCHUP HISTORY AGAINST MESA AND WESTERN
The Orediggers went a combined 1-2 last season against the Mavericks and Mountaineers. Colorado Mesa used long-range shooting to topple Mines 72-66 on Friday before the Orediggers bounced back for a convincing 71-51 win over Western Saturday. Mines also fell to Colorado Mesa 73-63 in the first round of the RMAC Tournament. The Orediggers have tallied 14 wins in the all-time series with Colorado Mesa and 24 wins against Western State.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
It's no secret Mines' star
Nicole Archambeau came to the Orediggers after starting her collegiate career at Colorado Mesa. Friday marks the junior's first return to Brownson Arena as Mines looks for its first win against the Mavericks since the 2015-16 season. Archambeau is averaging a double-double this season with 13.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game compared to 5.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season at Mesa.

CLEANING UP ON THE GLASS
Mines continues to lead the RMAC on the boards this season, generating 44.1 total rebounds per game, nearly two better than the next best team. The Orediggers also lead the league in defensive rebounding at 31.6 boards per game – more than two better per game than CSU-Pueblo at 29.0. Individually,
Nicole Archambeau leads the RMAC with 10.6 rebounds per game including a league-best 126 defensive boards. Â

ON THE AIR
Last week the RMAC announced that five Colorado School of Mines basketball games were selected to air on Comcast Entertainment Television in February. Mines' home doubleheaders against Regis on Feb. 2 and Fort Lewis on Feb. 16 will have both the women's and men's games televised, while Mines' men's game at MSU Denver on Feb. 24 will also air on CET. As a result, all five game times have changed; the two home doubleheaders will now be 5 p.m./7 p.m. tip-offs changed from 6 p.m./8 p.m., while the men's game at MSU Denver is pushed back to a 7:30 p.m. start time from 7 p.m.
