Mines fell behind early in the game but quickly took control on a 13-0 run in the middle of the first half, and led 38-35 at the half. A 15-2 Mines run wrapped around halftime extended the lead to double digits early in the second half, and the Orediggers went up as much as 18 on the back of an 8-0 run capped by Glen's three-pointer at the 9:51 mark.

Mesa wouldn't go away, however, and answered with a 17-4 run of their own to cut the Mines lead to only five at the 3:35 mark, 69-64. The Orediggers shut the door with a 7-0 stretch keyed by a Luke Schroepfer three-pointer, and Sonnefeld and Baker made their free throws in the final minute to ice it.
