ALAMOSA, Colo. – Junior guard
Cassidy Budge scored a career-high 31 points Saturday as the Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team took down Adams State, 89-66, inside Plachy Hall Gym.
Budge became the 11th player in Mines' history to score at least 30 points in one game. She went 11-for-17 from the floor with nine 3-pointers as she broke the program record for 3-point baskets in a single game. Budge also dished out one assist and grabbed two rebounds.
With the game tied 8-8 in the first quarter, Budge scored a layup that put the Orediggers (13-7, 10-4 RMAC) ahead of Adams State (4-13, 2-13 RMAC) for good. Mines led by as many as 30 points as it shot 57-percent from the field and recorded its highest point total since scoring 89 against Western State Jan. 31, 2015.
Nicole Archambeau and
Raven Herrera Williams both joined Budge in double digits, scoring 16 points each and
Courtney Stanton made it four Orediggers in double digits with 10 points. Archambeau tied the game high with seven rebounds and
Anna Kollmorgen led all players with six assists.
NOTE: Budge was originally credited with eight 3-point baskets and 30 points. After further review of the game film, it was found that Budge's basket at the 9:40 mark of the fourth quarter was incorrectly scored as a 2-point basket. The error was corrected accordingly, giving Budge nine 3-pointers and 31 points.
