2018 Rock Pre-Nationals Results

PITTSBURGH  – The nationally-ranked Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Cross Country teams dominated the field Saturday, as they swept the team titles at the Rock Pre-Nationals at Bob O'Connor Golf Course.
 
Mines' men went staggeringly low with 19 points on the 8,000-meter course. The next closest teams were Mount Olive and Queens (N.C.) with 126 points. The Oredigger women were equally dominant over 6,000 meters, scoring just 37 points on the way to another crown. Silver-medal finisher Walsh was nearly 60 points behind with 91 as a team.
 
Individually, Grant Colligan took gold as Mines' men swept the podium with Josh Hoskinson in second and Luc Hagen in third. Logan Ramlet was just seconds behind his teammates in fifth place, and Derek Steele rounded out five top-10 performances in eighth place. Jake Mitchem and Dylan Ko ran into the top-15 to cap the Orediggers' incredible performance.
 
Megan Wenham led the Oredigger women, taking fourth overall and bronze in scoring. Michaela Reynolds was right behind in fourth place as Maddie Geesen and Zoe baker rounded out four top-10 performances for Mines. The trio of Kara Burton, Morgan Molesworth and Heather Keniry gave the Orediggers seven scorers in the top-25.
 
Saturday marked the second time in three races the Orediggers have swept the team titles. Both Mines' men and women took first at the Colorado College Invitational earlier this season. In context, the Oredigger men swept the podium in a field over 300 and Mines' women put seven in the top-25 out of 292 individual racers.
