Moore’s Three-Pointer Pushes Mines Past Fort Lewis

GOLDEN, Colo. – Mikaela Moore sank the first three-point basket of her career Friday to propel the Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team past Fort Lewis, 57-53.
 
Moore finished the game with five points and eight rebounds. Emily Bailey led all scorers with 17 points and also grabbed five rebounds. Raven Herrera Williams finished with 11 points and Nicole Archambeau tallied a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double. Archambeau also added four assists while Anna Kollmorgen scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds.
 
In a back-and-forth game between Mines (16-9, 13-6 RMAC) and Fort Lewis (19-7, 13-7 RMAC), it was the Skyhawks who took the early advantage, leading 21-16 after the first quarter. The Orediggers outscored Fort Lewis 14-8 in the second quarter and FLC returned the favor in the third with a 15-8 advantage over Mines.
 
The lead changed hands 10 times and the score was tied five times before the Orediggers took the lead for good. With 1:29 remaining in the fourth period, Moore sank the first three-point basket of her career to give Mines a 54-52 lead over Fort Lewis. Herrera Williams and Archambeau closed it out with a layup and a free throw as the Orediggers outscored the Skyhawks 19-9 in the final period.
 
NOTABLES
- Archambeau has nine double-doubles this season. She has two double-doubles in her last three games.
- Bailey has scored in double digits in five of her last six games. She surpassed 1000-career points last week against Colorado Christian.
- Herrera Williams has scored in double digits three times this season. Her last game in double digits was Feb. 2 with 13 points against Regis.
- Mines is now in a tie for third place in the RMAC standings.
- Head Coach Brittany Simpson is 93-75 in six seasons at Mines.
