COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Emily Bailey matched her season high with 28 points Friday as the Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team rolled to an 81-68 victory over UCCS inside the Gallogly Events Center.
Bailey made a career-best six 3-point baskets as she went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and 11-of-18 from the field. The senior also grabbed five rebounds, dished out one assist and grabbed one steal.
Anna Kollmorgen dropped 16 points and
Elizabeth Tomon joined the double-digit party with 12 points of her own.
Nicole Archambeau led all players with seven rebounds.
Mines (18-9, 15-6 RMAC) led the Mountain Lions (9-17, 9-12 RMAC) from beginning to end. Tomon started it off with a pair of free throws to make it 2-0 Orediggers just 12 seconds into the game.
Courtney Stanton ended it with a layup at the 1:37 mark in the fourth quarter, giving Mines a 20-point lead. UCCS closed the game on a 7-0 run but it was too little too late.
NOTABLES
- Mines is now 18-20 in the all-time series with UCCS and 2-0 against the Mountain Lions this season.
- Bailey also scored 28 points at Regis Dec. 3, 2017. Her career high is 32 points against MSU Denver Feb. 25, 2017.
- Bailey's previous career high for made 3-point baskets was five against CSU-Pueblo Jan. 21, 2017.
- Tomon's last double-digit scoring game was 10 points against Chadron State Feb. 3.
- Kollmorgen's 16 points are the most she's scored since dropping 19 against Colorado Christian Jan. 23 of this year.
- Mines has won at least 18 games is two of its last three seasons.
