Mines’ Season Closes in RMAC Quarterfinals

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Women's Basketball team's season came to a close Tuesday with a 68-40 loss to Regis in the quarterfinals of the RMAC Tournament inside Lockridge Arena.
 
Nicole Archambeau posted her 11th double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Anna Kollmorgen dished out five assists while scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds.
 
Mines (18-11, 15-7 RMAC) took the early 2-0 lead as the two sides engaged in a defensive battle. Regis (16-12, 14-8 RMAC) fought back to tie the score at 6-6 with 4:50 to play in the opening quarter. The Rangers proceeded to close the first quarter on a 10-2 run. A 10-7 second quarter in favor of the visitors led to Regis shooting nearly 70 percent from 3-point range in the second half to close out the win.
 
NOTABLES
- The 2017-18 season marks the seventh straight season of double-digit wins for the Orediggers.
- Mines now has three consecutive seasons of 17 or more wins.
- Emily Bailey closes her career with 1,070 points in her career.
- Kollmorgen dished out 97 assists on the season, sixth-most in a season in program history and the most assists in one campaign since Anne Ralph recorded 95 in the 1987-88 season.
- Head Coach Brittany Simpson is 95-77 thru six seasons at Mines.
