Balanced Effort Leads Mines Past Chadron State, 71-55

Box Score GOLDEN, Colo. – Oredigger women's basketball had four individuals score in double digits Saturday as Mines took down Chadron State 71-55 inside Lockridge Arena.
 
Cassidy Budge had a game-high 16 points along with two rebounds. Nicole Archambeau and Emily Bailey added 13 points each, and Elizabeth Tomon scored 10. Archambeau and Anna Kollmorgen led the way on the boards with a team-high nine rebounds each. Tomon also added three blocks in the winning effort.
 
In a back-and-forth first half, the lead changed hands four times as the Eagles (5-18, 3-14 RMAC) took a 31-28 lead into halftime. Mines (14-8, 11-5 RMAC) came out firing in the second half with an 10-2 run to take a 38-33 lead. The Orediggers pushed their advantage to 16 behind five second-half 3-pointers. Chadron State went 1-for-9 from behind the arc in the final two quarters.
 
NOTABLES
- Mines is 27-33 in the all-time series with Chadron State and 2-0 in the regular season after a 77-71 win in December.
- Bailey's 13 points put her within three of 1,000 points for her career.
- Budge has scored 47 points with 16 3-pointers in her last three games. She has eight double-digit scoring games this season.
- Kollmorgen surpassed 200 points for the season with her six points against Chadron State.
- Archambeau has three double-digit performances in her last four outings. She leads the team with 12.8 points per game.
- Head Coach Brittany Simpson is 91-74 in six seasons at Mines.
