ON THE ROAD AGAIN
After five home games in 10 days, Mines hits the road for the heart of RMAC play with visits to Fort Lewis and Adams State this weekend. The Orediggers enter the weekend 8-1-0 overall and a perfect 4-0-0 in league play.

LAST WEEK
Mines survived a busy three-match week with a 3-0 record, beating #10 Western Washington 2-1 last Wednesday before cruising over CSU-Pueblo, 5-1, and New Mexico Highlands, 4-0, on the weekend. Mines had an impressive 10 different goalscorers for the week led by Emi Higgins' pair against NMHU; Karolina Sidebaeck had a goal and two assists while Giselle Sawaged had a goal and an assist across the three games.

IN THE POLLS
Mines stayed put in this week's national top-25 to #9 in the United Soccer Coaches' poll. The Orediggers have been nationally ranked in 68 of a possible 76 polls, and they earn their 52nd top-10 ranking all-time.

SAWAGED EARNS RMAC RECOGNITION
Senior center back Giselle Sawaged picked up her first career RMAC Defensive Player of the Week award on Tuesday after guiding the Mines backline in their 3-0 week. Sawaged scored in the 12th minute to set the tone against Western Washington and had an assist against CSU-Pueblo on Friday. Playing the full 90 in all three games, Sawaged led a defense that gave up only 7.6 shots and 0.6 goals per game for the week.

FINDING THE BACK OF THE NET
Mines enters the weekend #11 in NCAA Division II in scoring offense (3.22 goals per game) and fifth in total goals (29), and they lead the RMAC in every offensive category. Mines' 29 goals through nine games is its best scoring pace since 2012, when the team produced 30 through nine games. Fifteen different Orediggers have scored a goal this year led by Emi Higgins (5), Hannah Rowan (4), and Nicole LaTourette (4).

JUST THAT FAST
When Mickey Hostetler scored the opening goal against CSU-Pueblo, she did more than notch her first career goal – she also made history. At just 50 seconds into the game, Hostetler's goal was nine seconds faster than Elizabeth Oba's vs. Fort Lewis in 2009 to take the title of fastest into a match. They are the only two to score inside the first minute of play.

SCOUTING FORT LEWIS [SERIES: Mines, 14-7-1]
Fort Lewis is 2-3-1 this season and 1-1-1 in the RMAC, beating Adams State, losing to Regis, and drawing with Black Hills State. The Skyhawks have six different players who have a goal apiece while Emma Patron leads with two assists; Valerie Maestas and Corinne Sanderson have three points each. Britt Blomso owns a 1.78 GAA and .655 save percentage playing all but a half in goal. Mines has won four straight in the series and nine of the last 10; last year the Orediggers won 3-1 at home on goals by Peyton Sanders, Nicole LaTourette, and Emily Townsend. Among active players, LaTourette has a goal and an assist and Audrey Shin has a goal in their careers versus FLC.

SCOUTING ADAMS STATE [SERIES: Mines, 12-2-1]
The Grizzlies are 2-4-0 and 0-3-0 in the RMAC as they've lost to Regis, Black Hills State, and Fort Lewis. Jordyn Maes leads the team with two goals; Corri Zaiger has a 1.67 GAA and .762 save percentage. Mines has not lost to ASU since 2005 and owns a seven-game win streak, including last year's 4-0 win at home. Nicole LaTourette, who had a goal and an assist in last year's match, and Lindsey Tornabene are the only active players to have points against ASU.

BITS AND PIECES
Head coach Kevin Fickes won is now 161-29-22 overall and 99-14-9 in RMAC play in his 10th season, and he has a chance to win his 100th RMAC match this weekend … Fickes entered the season third on the NCAA Division II active coaching list for winning percentage (.811) … Mines has won 22 consecutive RMAC regular-season games dating back to 2017, one short of the program record of 23 set between the 2012 and 2014 seasons … Through four RMAC games this season, the Orediggers have outscored opponents 22-2 … Mines extended its program-record home unbeaten streak to 24 (23-0-1) with its three wins last week … Mines' win over Western Washington improved the program to 23-13-9 all-time against teams in the national top-25 … Fifteen different Orediggers have scored in nine games; in 2018, a dozen different players scored in the full 22-match season … Nicole LaTourette is now tied for fifth all-time at Mines in goals (21) and game-winning goals (8) and is seventh in points (49) … Shannon Mooney is now third all-time in saves (127), second in shutouts (27), and second in career GAA (0.47).

LOOKING AHEAD
