EVERYBODY SCORES
When
Amena Nelson and
Brooke Patterson scored their first collegiate goals at Black Hills State, they became the 17th and 18th different players to score for the Orediggers this year. That ties the 2016 team for most different goalscorers in a season in program history; last year, Mines had just 12 players score in the full 22-match season.
SCOUTING FORT LEWIS [SERIES: Mines, 14-7-2]
Fort Lewis is a tough #7 seed at 7-6-3 overall and 6-4-3 in the RMAC this season, and they have won four straight matches to end the regular season. Emma Patron, Valerie Maestas, and Katie Smith were all Second-Team All-RMAC picks as Patron leads them with eight points, Maestas has two goals, and Smith has led a defense allowing 1.25 goals per game. Mines and Fort Lewis played to a scoreless draw back on Oct. 4 despite Mines holding a 16-4 shots advantage. The two have not met in the RMAC Tournament since 2015, when the Orediggers won 1-0 in the final on
Haley Cole's late goal.
