Final Winter Standings

WESTLAKE, Ohio
- Colorado School of Mines ends the winter season ranked second nationally in the Learfield IMG Directors' Cup standings for NCAA Division II, measuring the top athletic departments in the nation.

Mines has a two-season total of 523.5 points to sit behind leader Grand Valley State (715.0) and just ahead of Queens (521.0). The Orediggers earned 183.50 total winter points after a national-best 340.0 in the fall. Last year, Mines exited the winter season fourth in the standings on the way to a best-ever sixth-place showing following the spring.

The winter was a successful one for the Orediggers, who built their points based off NCAA performances by
men's indoor track & field (12th at NCAAs, 54.5 points), women's indoor track & field (27th, 47 points), wrestling (39th, 25 points), men's basketball (33rd, 25 points), and women's swimming (42nd, 22 points).

The RMAC dominates the rankings with five members in the top 20 including Mines, Adams State (6th), Colorado Mesa (9th), Western Colorado (12th), and UCCS (20th).

The Learfield IMG Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
