GOLDEN, Colo. - Sunday's season opener between Colorado School of Mines and Humboldt State softball has been cancelled due to high winds.
Both teams and umpires agreed that playing conditions were unsafe as heavy wind gusts would not die down. The teams waited past the scheduled 11 a.m. start time before cancelling the series.
The forecast is better for Sunday's doubleheader against Sioux Falls, scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
