CHADRON, Neb. – Oredigger hitter Rose Stuewe propelled the #7 Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Chadron State on Tuesday evening inside the Chicoine Center.

Stuewe led all players with 22 kills while producing five digs and one service ace. Teammate Taylor Hicken was right behind with 14 kills one ace, four digs and two blocks, Lindsey Jin joined the double-digit party by knocking down 11 kills while adding three digs and one assist. Drew Stokes emerged with a 50-assist, 12-dig double-double. Additionally, Elle Duis racked up 24 digs, six assists and one ace while April Jergensen put up three aces and seven digs.

Mines ( 17-2, 10-1 RMAC) overcame seven total blocks from Chadron State (4-14, 2-9 RMAC) while the Eagles held the Orediggers under .300 on the attack for the sixth time this season. Despite CSC's defensive acumen, Mines still pushed Chadron State under a .200 clip on offense. The Orediggers used six service aces compared to three from the Eagles to earn another statistical advantage. Two different Chadron State players produced 13 kills apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Tuesday evening saw Mines playing its third match in five days. While some may have expected exhaustion a hangover from the five-setter at MSU Denver, the Orediggers chose to live "The Good Life" in Nebraska. Mines rolled into the Chicoine Center and dispatched the Eagles in four sets. As evidence, the opening set took just over 20 minutes, and Stuewe knocked down five kills while Stokes provided 14 assists. Duis put up nine digs for good measure,

Game two proved similar, lasting just 25 minutes while Stuewe hammered out five more kills. Eiken enhanced the 25-18 win with four kills of her own. Hicken proved huge with two blocks. However, the home team refused to be swept on their home court and knocked out a 25-22 win to avoid the sweep. But, that would be the only momentum for CSC as Mines rolled to a 25-19 win to clinch the match. Stuewe added the exclamation point with seven more kills in the final set.
