AFCA Top 25
WACO, Texas - Colorado School of Mines finishes the season with its highest final poll ranking ever at #3 in the AFCA Coaches Top 25.
The Orediggers (12-2) jumped up from #9 in the last regular-season poll thanks to their NCAA semifinal run. National champion Ferris State was the unanimous #1, with Valdosta State #2. Northwest Missouri State was behind Mines at #4 and Shepherd was #5. Other Mines opponents appearing in the final poll include #11 Angelo State, #16 Western Colorado, and #19 Bemidji State.
Mines' previous best AFCA poll finish was #8 after the 2004 and 2019 seasons. The #3 ranking ties the Orediggers' best-ever overall ranking as they reached the spot in Week 7 of this season. Mines was ranked in the top 10 in 11 of 13 polls this season.
