Day One Results

GOLDEN, Colo. –
The Colorado School of Mines Track & Field teams opened Front Range #3 on Friday and walked away with multiple NCAA qualifying marks at Steinhauer Fieldhouse.

Grant Redmond started the trend in the high jump as he improved his NCAA standing and shot for the program record. Redmond's final clearance was 2.09 meters (6-10.25) which is currently tied for third in the nation as a provisional qualifying height. After clearing his first two heights, the sophomore made three runs at the Oredigger indoor high jump record with the bar set at 2.12 meters (6-11.5). He did not clear the height, but Redmond did walk away encouraged and ranked #3 in the nation.

Arvid Veidmark IV followed Redmond's lead in the shot put. Veidmark IV heaved the implement 16.74 meters (54-11.25) which marked a season high for the junior. The performance improved Veidmark IV's NCAA provisional mark from earlier this season and puts him 17th in the nation. Meanwhile, Fischer Argosino rounded it out for the men in the triple jump by leaping 14.33 meters (47-0.25) It was a personal best for the true freshman and ranks him #3 in program history.

On the women's side, Krista Carlo grabbed the headline in the weight throw. Carlo tossed it 17.00 meters (55-9.25) to improve her #2, all-time ranking in program history. The graduate student had taken over Mines' #2 spot earlier this season with a heave of 16.32 meters (53-6.5). Teammate Reilly West joined Carlo in the weight throw while Kat Tomon and West participated in the shot put. Sophia Collins and Lexye Wood both took part in the long jump.
