PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines got the Spank Blasing Invite started on Friday with the hammer throwers in action led by Krista Carlo's NCAA provisional mark.
Carlo was the top D-II thrower in the women's hammer, placing third overall with a career-best 53.08m (174-1) on her final spin to set an NCAA provisional mark that is currently #5 in the nation. The throw made her just the third woman in program history to surpass 53 meters, joining Gina Coleman and Courtney Clark. Reilly West placed 13th at 42.24m (138-7), while in the men's hammer, Davin Kiesby finished 13th with a throw of 45.58m (149-6).
The meet picks up Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on the track and 10 a.m. in the field.
