#13 Mines Stays Hot In 3-0 Win Over ASU

GOLDEN, Colo. - #13 Colorado School of Mines controlled throughout, scoring early and never letting Adams State get into the match in a 3-0 win.

The Orediggers remained unbeaten at 4-0-1 and 2-0-0 in RMAC play, outshooting the Grizzlies (1-3-0, 0-2-0 RMAC) by a 25-3 margin.

Eliot Edwards scored 2:48 into the game and Lauren Sherburne added a marker late in the first half, while AK Ford sealed the win with her goal late in the second half.

Edwards got Mines off to a terrific start with her third-minute tally thanks to the forward pressure of Meg Zimmerman, who dispossessed a defender off a short goal kick and found Edwards in the box, where she beat the keeper for the 1-0 lead.

Sherburne added her first career goal in the 42nd minute, picking out a deflected pass into the box just outside the penalty spot and burying the finish to make it 2-0. Ford's goal in the 79th minute rewarded a pacey run from midfield by the sophomore as she took it the entire way and finished to the far post to make it 3-0.

Sierra Roth made two saves in picking up the clean sheet.
